I'm torn between these two models. Is it worth waiting a few months and spending the extra $$$ for the CK20? HST would be very nice along with the live PTO for mowing...
Would you think twice about buying something its first year out?

I would think it depends on how badly you want the HST and live PTO. Not wanting to throw any negative suff at Kioti ( I like them) but the CK20 is a new model and might have a few new model bugs in it. The 1914 is of a known quality.
Knowing Kioti, the CK20 will probably be a very nice little tractor. I am not sure if this is Kioti's first venture into HST or only the first one we have seen over here in the US.
Enough rambling, I think my first sentence sums up my response. Enjoy your selection process.

Kioti seems to take care of their problems. If there is a dealer close by I would risk a new model. If, like me, the nearest dealer is 125 miles away I would really have to think about it. ....

If it is any indication the area rep. here and local dealer have both known about the new CK's for more than 1 year. Kioti has a reputation for being conservative in design and engineering (look at the weight). They delayed the DK series in a similar manner and from reports the DK's are more reliable than the older tractors. The dealer here stated that they had sold 30-40 DKs/yr since intro and had one back for waranty work. ....

Well, the dealer I'm purchasing from is about 90 miles away. The 3 closest dealers (25, 25 and 75 miles) won't budge on price and aren't even close to this dealers pricing. Kioti's official statement on warranty repairs is that only the selling dealer is required to do warranty work, however, Kioti would assist in getting repairs with a more local dealer if necessary. Not sure, but i would imagine the local dealers would want some of my money, no matter how they get it (i.e. parts and repairs down the road). Worst case for me is trailering the dang thing back to the original dealer. Honestly, I think with the limited amount of use this thing will see in its first year, only a major factory flaw would cause something to break prematurely. I would imagine most repairs are required due to OE. ....
